Recommended Clothing
For an accurate examination, dress your child in practical clothes:
- Comfortable underwear (shorts and undershirt)
- Easy to remove shoes (for gait observation)
- Avoid tight jeans or complex outfits
Video Can Help!
If your child walks, runs, or moves in a particular way that worries you, record a short video at home. Children often behave differently in the clinic, and a video from home can be invaluable for an accurate assessment.
Why Complete Documentation Matters
Having a complete clinical history allows for a more accurate and faster evaluation. Avoid repeating unnecessary exams and enable the doctor to understand the full picture of your child's orthopaedic situation.
Even if an old exam seems unrelated, bring it anyway - sometimes past information reveals important connections that help guide current treatment.
